OrthoBanc is a family oriented company located in Hixson, TN.  We are a leader in providing payment solutions to providers in the orthodontic and dental field. 

We are currently seeking an Application Support Engineer to maintain and support OrthoBanc applications. The Application Support Engineer is reponsible for  troubleshooting, testing, and documenting software applications as well as developing workflows and tooling to manage all aspects of software support.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently while handling multiple responsibilities.  We are seeking someone with effective communication skills to work with both with internal and external customers, project managers, designers, QA and other developers while continuing to grow and develop his or her skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for minimizing downtime and improving customer experience by handling support requests directly from customers and those escalated from other team members.
  • Ability to perform deep dive technical troubleshooting and maintenance, and effectively document and communicate problems and solutions in a multi-project, multi-platform environment.
  • Assists in the design, organization, and maintenance of application documentation and troubleshooting guides.
  • Requires organization, dedication, persistence, and effective utilization of provided resources and methodologies to design and implement support services, delivering superior customer service.
  • Test, debug, maintain and document software using a variety of software programming frameworks in a Microsoft environment
  • Participates in all facets of the life-cycle of a project, including: understanding business needs, information gathering, standards and requirements generation, research and design, coding, testing, quality assurance, documentation, code maintenance and software releases
  • Develops and delivers to release schedules working as a cooperative team member in an agile development environment
  • Effectively functions and communicates within a team environment consisting of developers, quality assurance, UI designer, project management members, and management
  • Manage code within a team version control system
  • Provide peer code reviews for other developers as a security and quality measure
  • Take the initiative to learn and advance your development skills
  • Participate in off-hours releases and maintenance windows
  • Works with staff and/or vendor technical personnel as needed to investigate and resolve application software problems.
  • Keeps other staff informed of the status of problem resolution efforts.
  • Provides on call support to internal and external customers
  • Assumes additional responsibilities, serves on task groups and committees, and performs toher duties as requested or assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Networking, SFTP/FTP, Web and Client services
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases and T-SQL
  • Experience using various Help Desk tools
  • Prior experience with application support/problem solving in a technical environment
  • Strong customer service and support experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines within a very fluid work environment
  • Some travel may be required from time to time to visit customer sites
